Is virtual care right for you?
Deciding whether virtual psychiatric care suits you, from a practice that only sees patients by video
Does virtual psychiatric care suit you? JRose Wellness is telehealth only: what works well by video, what does not, and what happens if you need more than video.

Virtual care tends to fit well when
- You want evaluation, medication management, or supportive therapy for an outpatient concern
- You have a private place to talk and a device with a camera
- Getting to an appointment is hard because of distance, work, childcare, or mobility
- You are more comfortable opening up from home than in a waiting room
- You want to keep the same provider across moves within Connecticut
The honest limits
JRose Wellness is telehealth only
Every visit is by secure video. There is no office and no in-person option at this practice. If that is not what you want, we would rather you know now.
Some things cannot be done over video
A hands-on physical exam, and care at a higher level than scheduled outpatient visits, such as intensive programs or hospital care.
When you need more, we say so
If your situation calls for an in-person provider, a higher level of care, or an emergency room, Jessica will tell you plainly and help with a referral.
Common questions
Does JRose Wellness offer any visits in an office?
No. JRose Wellness is a telehealth practice, and every visit, including the first evaluation, is by secure video for patients in Connecticut.
Can a first psychiatric evaluation be done by video?
Yes. The evaluation is a detailed conversation about your history, symptoms, and goals, which works well over video. If something comes up that needs an exam or a higher level of care, Jessica will say so.
Is virtual care covered by insurance?
Plans booked through Alma or Headway cover video visits with JRose Wellness. Details are on our Insurance & Pricing page.
What if video is not enough for me?
Then you deserve to hear that clearly. Jessica will explain why, and help you find in-person or higher-level care. If you are in crisis, call or text 988, or call 911.
What do I need for a video visit?
A private, quiet space, a phone, tablet, or computer with a camera and microphone, and a stable internet connection. See our Telepsychiatry page for the details.
