What to know

JRose Wellness is not a crisis service

JRose Wellness is not an emergency or crisis service and cannot provide same-day crisis care. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988, call 911, or go to the nearest emergency room. Visits here are scheduled outpatient appointments by video.

Emergency rooms assess safety

In an emergency room, mental health professionals assess your safety and decide what level of care you need, which may be a hospital stay or a plan to follow up as an outpatient.

After the crisis, outpatient care continues

Once you are safe, follow-up psychiatric care helps you understand what happened and lower the chance of it happening again. That is where a practice like JRose Wellness fits.

Common questions

When is it a psychiatric emergency?

If you are thinking about harming yourself or someone else, cannot keep yourself safe, are in severe distress, or are experiencing hallucinations or confusion. If you are not sure, call 988.

Can I call 988 if I am not suicidal but need to talk?

Yes. 988 supports anyone in emotional distress. Trained counselors can help you work through what you are feeling and point you to resources.

I am a JRose Wellness patient. Should I call the practice in a crisis?

No. Call 988 or 911, or go to the nearest emergency room first. The practice does not provide emergency or same-day crisis care. Once you are safe, let us know so your follow-up can account for what happened.

What happens if I go to the emergency room?

You will be evaluated by mental health professionals who assess your safety and symptoms. They decide whether you need to stay for care or can safely go home with a follow-up plan.
